José Luis Mondragón, a native of Mexico, more precisely from the state of Guerrero in the warm land of Placeres del Oro. Since he was a child, José Luis learned the value of hard work and dedication from his father, who was an example to follow.
He remembers clearly the early mornings at the ranch, when a bright star would appear in the sky, signaling the time to get up. Even at night, the roosters were crowing and his father was already dressing for work. There was a stream they had to cross, which filled with water when it rained, but his father was never afraid to face it. He would say: “We have to cross it, we have to work”. José Luis admired that determination and set out to follow in his footsteps.
He promised his father that his family name would resonate throughout Texas, and explained that he would start an air conditioning company in honor of his legacy. With God’s help and blessing, they went to work with joy and pride.
Mondragon Mechanical is a family business, and José Luis makes sure to pass that working example on to his children. He is especially proud to see how his eldest grandson, in his young twenties, is preparing to continue the family business in the Mondragon Mechanical industry.
The Hispanic community is of great importance to Jose Luis, as he himself comes from that cultural background. Understanding the needs of his people, he seeks to be honest and speak the truth. He has noticed that many families believe they do not qualify for an air conditioning or heating system, and in Mondragon they always find a solution. Many people need to be given the time and listened to in Spanish, they need to be spoken to honestly about product quality and other important issues.
